One month. A lifetime of memories.

A month ago, I boarded a flight to South Korea not knowing what to expect… and now, I’m leaving with a heart full of memories, growth, and gratitude.

From trying Taekwondo for the first time, exploring the colourful streets of Gamcheon Culture Village, and even learning how to make Gimbap! Every day brought something new to learn, explore, and reflect on.

I met people from all over the world, tried things I never imagined myself doing, and made memories I’ll carry with me forever.

What really made it special were the amazing people I met throughout. From the organisers, the Summer School participants and the international friends who turned into family. Whether it was sharing late night meals at the University convenience store or trying to learn new phrases in different languages, there was always laughter, connection, and warmth.

And I was also given the opportunity to present the closing speech at our farewell ceremony. I’m still not sure how I managed to go through it without crying the whole way (spoiler: I ended up crying a lot when saying my goodbyes). But standing there in front of everyone, trying to find the words to express what this programme meant to me, was one of the most emotional and humbling moments I’ve ever experienced.

A massive thank you again to the amazing PNU Summer School team. I am grateful to them for creating a space that brought us all together and made us feel at home, even thousands of miles away from it.

I’m leaving with:

• a camera roll full of moments I’ll never forget
• a certificate I’m so proud to have earned
• and friendships I hope will last a lifetime
